Scan: Potlid Knob

These knobs, those once bothered me, are much fun by their own without being functional

I bought a set of stainless pots at Ikea (Click to see how they look like 😅)

The pots themselves are cheap, handy pots for cooking, but two of the upsetting thing are: the screw of the handle kept getting loose and coming off, and...

💧WATER ARE ALWAYS KEPT BETWEEN THE LID AND THE KNOB AFTER DISHWASHING😡🔥

I had to constantly disassemble and reclean because the knobs, until one day I was too frustrated to do it again; therefore, I now have two knob caps for good reasons.

Seeing them being separated indeed helps me to appreciate their shapes and the feeling of touching them more—I even sketch about how they might fit into a design of a necklace. My resentment converted to something liking and curiosity.

The shift in my attitude reminds me of my experiences painting with oil paints. I used madly addict to do portraits, but I always missed the correct tone of representing skin because I only used warm, skin-like colors. Later, when I added, before hated but now favorite, purple and green and other supplementary colors, the skin on the canvas looked more transparent and alive.

Is this the power of 物极必反/ Enantiodromia/ 'Extremes lead to reversal'? 😅 🤣
